CompoClay is a Bay Area company that has created a revolutionary eco-friendly material that is completely sustainable and nonhazardous. This amazing new material can be used to make everything from fireplace mantels to wall panels to pottery. CompoClay's goal is to replace harmful materials that contain harsh toxins and chemicals, and products that lead to devastating environmental practices like deforestation and harmful underground mining.
In addition to its green home products, CompoClay strives to promote green operations and a green society. To this end, CompoClay has opened at "green resource center", along with their new showroom, in the heart of San Francisco's financial district. Located at 60 Post Street, this space will be open to other business, organizations, and groups who share CompoClay's vision for sustainable products, operations, and building practices. CompoClay seeks to join with such groups to host seminars, speeches, mixers, and other events promoting sustainability.
On Tuesday, June 28th CompoClay hosted their first green mixer with respected design industry leader ASID. The event was frequented by builders, designers, students, and many other green enthusiasts, and featured a delicious spread of hor d'ourves from local green business, Bi-Rite Market, and local wines from the nearby Napa Valley. The mood was very relaxed and social, with people mingling freely, and short introductions to both CompoClay and ASID. Guests got to browse around CompoClay's beautiful 4,000 sq. ft. showroom and see the wide range of CompoClay home décor products.
San Francisco resident Andrew Goble was one of many young professionals who attended the CompoClay and ASID event. Goble said he was drawn out by his interest in CompoClay's innovative material, and of course the free wine. Goble stated "I read about CompoClay when they opened their new showroom last month, and I had to come check it out for myself. I really didn't fully appreciate just how unique this material was until I got to see and feel it, firsthand." Goble went on to say that he was most amazed by the hundreds of unique finishes and looks that CompoClay can achieve using the exact same material; products emulating wood, stone, porcelain, and metal were are on display.
CompoClay is seeking to hold more events like this on a regular basis, and is looking for groups that are interested in co-sponsoring them. CompoClay's great space would serve as an excellent setting for almost any event.
